Rose Anna Chapman (née Blake), passed away on March 24, 2025, in Warminster, Pennsylvania, at the age of 68.
Born on September 22, 1956, in Mentor, Ohio, Rose was the eldest of six siblings and embraced her role with love and devotion. She shared a deep bond with her brothers and sister—Charles Blake Jr., Steven Blake (Karen), Michael Blake (Sue), Richard Blake, Ruth Withrow (Michael), and William Blake—always looking out for one another and sharing laughter along the way. She is remembered by her siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Rose had a bright and curious mind that fostered a lifelong love of learning. An avid reader, she enjoyed collecting unique trivia and sharing fascinating facts. Her quirky sense of humor made every conversation an adventure. Though she once aspired to be a nurse, life led her into transcription work, where she excelled—earning recognition for her remarkable typing speed.
Fishing brought Rose great peace throughout her life. Whether sitting quietly by the water or enjoying boat trips with her siblings, she found serenity in the experience. Later in life, she became known as the "cookie guru" among family members, especially for her Christmas cookies. Her well-worn cookbooks were marked with favorite sugar cookie recipes.
Above all else, Rose took immense pride in being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Jessica Matthews and son-in-law David Matthews. Her grandchildren, Olivia and Lucas, brought immeasurable joy to her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan K. Chapman, and her parents, Charles K. Blake and Adelia Louise Blake.
May Rose’s memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to share in her life's journey.
