Esposito, Jocelyn (Joy) passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024. She was 86. Born in Philadelphia to Anthony and Frances Lisa, she was a loving and dedicated matriarch of her family. In addition to her Mother and Father, Joy was preceded in her passing by her Husband, Pasqual Esposito and her Sisters, Angela Deutsch and Kathleen Galik. Joy is survived by her Sister, Barbara DeRitis, and children Louis Tomeo (Tara), Joe Tomeo (Nicole), his former partner Carolann Vignola and Jocelyn Tumolo (Ron). Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Allison, David (great-grandchild, Benjamin), Joey, Anthony, Nicholas, Alexander and Aidan.
Joy held many jobs during her lifetime. She spoke most fondly of her position as a legal secretary. This is no surprise to those who knew her as she was a source of great inspiration for her family and friends and had a strong and lasting desire to help anyone she met. Joy had many hobbies and interests in her lifetime, which she loved telling stories about. We will miss the countless retellings of her prowess on the softball diamond, on the bowling lanes, and seeing the results of her expert crocheting. Joy loved spending time with friends and spotting butterflies. However, the most impressionable family experience was undoubtedly her love of baking. We will miss the best-tasting pizzelle cookies and biscotti outside of Italy.
We are all saddened by her passing and comforted in knowing that she was loved by everyone who met her. We will celebrate Joy's life and journey to her Eternal Home Tuesday, July 23rd at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 820 North Hills Avenue, Ardsley PA. All are welcome to attend the visitation from 9:30 am to 10:30 am followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 am. Services will be Livestreamed on the church media link below. In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations may be made in Joy's name with the American Lung Association at www.lung.org.
Condolences may be left on the funeral home website.
