Jack D. Seibert, 92 of Bucks County, PA passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Doylestown Hospital. Born in Christopher, IL, he was the son of the late Jesse and Opal (Green) Seibert. He was the brother of the late Richard Seibert (Gladys), the late Audrey Seibert Keiger (Lowell) and the late Harry Seibert (Joy).

Jack went to school in Christopher. Then, when in High School he was an important member of the local sports teams. On the Football team, He was #50 & was named the “Golden Toe”. In Basketball, He was #11 & #24. He could play most any position and continually was instrumental in leading his team to many victories. He was also in Track and Minstrel C Club. He graduated with the Class of 1951. 

After high school, he joined the Navy and was on the USS Mullany. After serving in the Navy, he left with an Honorable Discharge.

For a short time Jack worked for the Heinz company, but he did not like being away from his home and family, therefore quit to pursue other interests. For many years he worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken as a manager. Jack had a long work career and most of his life he worked as a lead manager and a master repairman of many different things. He was ingenious, creative and was an avid woodworker.

He was a kind and gentle soul and was an inspiration to his family & friends. Jack was a Christian and loved the Lord. He was a great example and teacher to his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family & friends. One of his favorite Hymns was Amazing Grace and several of his favorite Bible verses were, Isiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee. Oh, the peace of God that passes all understanding”, and Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Jack enjoyed fishing, football, basketball and creating unique woodworking projects. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

In 2009, he attended the Navy’s 234th Birthday Ball. Jack being the most Senior Navy man there, he was chosen by Rear Admiral Robert Wray, Deputy Commander, Military Sealift Command to participate in the Navy Ball Ceremony and Cutting of the Navy Ball cake. Rear Admiral Wray awarded Jack with a Special coin to commemorate the event.

Jack is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janet Smith Seibert, 2 children Debbie Byrne (Steven) of Pennsylvania and Dan Seibert of Illinois. He leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Brandon Byrne (Denise), Lyndsay Byrne Martin (Jason) and Laura Seibert. He had 7 great grandchildren, Rylee Miller, Brody Byrne, Violet Martin, Coraline Byrne, Bailey Byrne, Jack Martin (his namesake) and James Martin. He has several nieces and nephews; Janie Keiger West (Bob), Linda Smith Miller (Jim), Kevin Smith (Kerry) & Mark Smith (Shelly) as well as many other great nieces and nephews.

Jack will be missed by many people.
