Gussie A. Horvath

Gussie Ann Horvath passed away on June 12, 2024, just 21 days from her 100th birthday, in her home in Chalfont, Pa.

She was born in Houston, Texas on July 3, 1924 to Annie Letz Scanlan and Charles Scanlan. Gussie was married to John W. Horvath who passed on March 21, 2009 . She is survived by her daughter Patti Horvath and sons Don, Rob and Gregg(Laura) Horvath, five grandchildren whom she adored, Walt, Chris(Brie) and Katie Hulton, Alexa and Courtney Horvath and three great grandchildren, Walter, Cameron and Leighton.

Gussie grew up in Houston, Texas and moved to Horsham, Pa in 1950. Then in 1965 she moved with Johnny and their four children to Chalfont, Pa where she lived the rest of her life.

Gussie worked for Rohm and Haas for over 25 years and retired in 1989. One of her greatest hobbies was sewing. Creating most of her very unique, fashionable wardrobe. Another hobby Gussie mastered was shopping! She was a member of St. Jude Church, Chalfont, Pa for over 55 years where all four of her children attended school. She loved her pets, both dogs and cats throughout the years. Gussie was a huge Phillies and Eagles fan, where even at 99 years old she loved to watch their games on tv!

Her memorial service will be held on her 100th birthday, July 3, 2024 at The Wayside Chapel in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow her service in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
