Elaine D. Vonder Schmalz

Elaine Dorothy Vonder Schmalz, 83, of Warminster, Pennsylvania passed away on September 30th, 2024.

Elaine was born on October 13th, 1940, to John and Dorothy Brennan and grew up in Philadelphia, PA with her late brother Jack Brennan. After graduating from Little Flower High School in 1959, Elaine worked at The Department of State in Philadelphia and soon met the love of her life, Karl. They wed on May 26, 1962, going on to having 3 children, Karl, Kurt, and Karen. She is survived by her children, 11 grandchildren, and many friends that love her.

Though Elaine worked for the government following high school, the career she cherished most was being an incredible mother to her three beautiful children. She took great pride in supporting her family through their passions and goals. Whether it was cheering on her children and grandchildren during their achievements or providing comfort during tough times, she made it her mission to provide unconditional love. 

Elaine personified sunshine in every way. To quote her favorite song to play on the ukulele, Elaine made her loved ones “happy when skies were gray”. Elaine was passionate about painting, singing, playing the ukulele, and being an intricate part of her grandchildren’s life. When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could often be found enjoying her favorite activities in the company of family and friends. 

The family is grateful that Elaine is finally resting with Karl, playing the Ukelele, in eternal peace.
