1931 Dolores 2024

Dolores E. Paravano

November 11, 1931 — September 20, 2024

Horsham, PA

Dolores Elizabeth Paravano passed away on September 20, 2024 at Woodland Creek Memory Care Community, Dresher, PA, at the age of 92. She was the wife of the late Philip C. Paravano Sr. , with whom she shared more than 65 years of marriage.

Born November 11, 1931 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Polish immigrants Walter and Helen ( Zoloanawski) Biczelewski.

Dolores is survived by her beloved son Philip Jr. (Nancy Tirrell), grandchildren Sean (Casey Shaffer), Emily and Jason, Great-grandchild Archer, and extended family.

After graduating from high school with straight As, Dolores began her career as an executive secretary. Later, her expertise was an asset to her family specialty printing business, Paravano Company Incorporated, where she managed the office as executive secretary and bookkeeper for more than 40 years.

Dolores was a lover of cats and dogs, especially cats, donating to numerous animal welfare charities in honor of the pets she so dearly loved.

She lived most of her life in Horsham, PA, in a home she meticulously decorated, surrounded by gardens she fastidiously tended to.

Always impeccably dressed and coiffed, Dolores’ style reflected her obsession with shopping.

In her younger years she remained active swimming at Hideaway Swim Club in Horsham, playing tennis and bowling with her lady friends. The family’s first color television was won by Dolores in her women’s bowling league.

Dolores adamantly believed that “dessert should be dinner” and maybe that’s why her baked goods were so irresistible. Her creative skills flourished in baking and crafting.

Those closest to Dolores will remember her relaxing in her living room in her favorite chair by the front window, gazing outward, simply savoring a cup of coffee, a piece of milk chocolate and a cigarette.

Interment will be private.
