Barbara A. Walker, a beloved Pre-K teacher and cherished family matriarch, was born on March 18, 1939 in Hellam, Pennsylvania. She enriched the lives of everyone around her until her peaceful departure on April 16, 2025 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Barbara, lovingly known as "Mom" and "Grammy," dedicated many years to nurturing young minds, never hesitating to share her passion for teaching and her immense affection for "her kids."  Her Teacher of the Year award was her proudest career accomplishment.  Barbara’s legacy as an educator will forever be remembered by the countless children whose lives she touched.

For the last six years, Barbara bravely battled dementia with a courage that inspired her family and friends. Now, she has been welcomed into the embrace of her beloved daughter, Jennifer Walker, her mother Mary Nestler, her father Fred Bingaman Sr., her stepfather Floyd Nestler, and other cherished family members who have long awaited her arrival.

Those fortunate enough to know Barbara were struck by her vibrant energy, infectious sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her spirit was a true force, leaving an indelible mark on all who loved her.

Barbara leaves behind a loving family that includes her daughter, Susan Walker; her son, Robert Walker Jr. (Nancy); her sister, Cathy Styron; and her brother, Fred Bingaman Jr. (Cheryl). She was a devoted grandmother to Samantha (Bruce), Rikki (Justin), Jordan (Christian), Robert III, Casey (Jake), Thomas, Daniel and Tyler. Barbara joyfully embraced the role of great-grandmother to Carter, Chase, Bruce, Laney, William, and Hudson. She was also a proud aunt to Fred III, Kiersten, Chelcea, Ross, and Olivia.

As her family grieves the loss of a remarkable woman, they take comfort in knowing that she has finally reunited with those she loved most dearly. Barbara A. Walker will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will continue to inspire all whose lives she touched.
