Barbara (Barb) Stradling Redlow, 78, of Warminster, PA was born on December 9th, 1945 and returned to the loving arms of her husband in heaven on January 22nd, 2024. Barb was preceded in death by her parents Barton Stradling and Helen (Wood). Barb was married to her Northeast High School sweetheart, Robert Redlow, for 55 years after she proposed to him after his Naval Officer Candidate School graduation. Barbara and Robert have 2 children, Wendy Redlow Kerr (husband David) of Palmyra, and Andrew Redlow (wife Nadia), of Warminster. Barbara is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Gavin, Nina, Landon, Emelia, and Ryan.
Barb graduated from Temple University with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught elementary students for many years and pursued other careers including real-estate, and pharmaceutical sales. In her free time, she loved playing tennis and golf for many years up until a couple of years ago. Barbara enjoyed planning family vacations and travelling to Hilton Head Island every summer and ski trips to various places around the country every winter.
She enjoyed going out to dinner especially to her favorite Thai restaurant in Buckingham, Siam Cuisine until its closing a year ago and loved a cappuccino any time of day. She had many close friends from her tennis and couples’ dinner groups. She was proud to teach her kids to play tennis, her love of cooking and money management skills.
Upon retirement, Barb and Bob purchased a sailboat in 1999 and became captain of their two sailboats: Serenity and Narrow Escape. Captain Bob and his first mate Barb, spent most weekends from April – October sailing in the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland up until 2021. They met many friends sailing and enjoyed many adventures with their friends at Mears Point Marina in Kent Narrows, Maryland. Barbara especially loved listening to the U. S. Naval Academy band concert in Annapolis every 4th of July with her family and friends from the marina. They enjoyed many trips especially to Italy, London, Vietnam, Greece, Alaska and most recently a train ride through the Rocky Mountains.
Barb was affectionately known as Mammy to her 5 grandkids. They will miss sailing on the Chesapeake with their grandparents and Mammy’s entertaining personality. They enjoyed their annual outing with their Mammy and BopBop to the Sight and Sound Music Theatre to see the Christmas show with the live animals.
A Memorial Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA 18940, on Wednesday May 22, 2024, at 11:30 am. Please arrive promptly by 11:15 am and assemble in the funeral procession parking area. All friends are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Lupus Foundation of America, Delaware Valley Chapter in her name.
