It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Arlene Iris Hamilton (Reichig) of Doylestown, Pennsylvania. She departed this world peacefully on Sunday, December 22nd, 2024, at the age of 85.
Born on November 4th, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, Arlene lived a life filled with beauty, creativity, and authenticity. Known for her fine taste in food and the arts, she was an artist at heart who possessed a deep appreciation for elegance and wisdom.
She was raised in Williamsburg and Canarsie, New York, and attended Erasmus Hall High School. Married at the age of nineteen, she and her husband built a loving family, first in Brooklyn, then later in Howell, New Jersey. She then lived in North Brunswick, Highland Park, and Sparta, New Jersey, before spending the last seventeen years of her life in Doylestown, where Arlene became a cherished member of her community.
Known for her remarkable strength, resilience, and quick wit, she touched countless lives with her indelible spirit. Arlene had a true gift for making any place feel like home.
Arlene was passionate about fashion, interior decorating, art, classical music, dancing, and playing cards. She especially loved gatherings with loved ones and, above all else, shopping. Her impeccable style and vibrant personality were unparalleled, and her legacy will live on in all who knew and loved her.
Arlene was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her daughters Laury Hamilton, Joni (and Jim) Porter, Amy (and Chris) White; her grandchildren Jeff, Danielle “JD”, Chris Jr. and Max; her great-grandson Jacob; her siblings Len Reichig, Jerry (and Annette) Reichig, Barbara Rosenblum, Carol (and Ely) Berger; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and Hamilton in-laws, who lovingly knew her as “Cookie”. She is also mourned by countless friends.
Arlene was preceded in death by her beloved parents Murray and Rose Reichig (Levine); her sister-in-law Pat Reichig and her brother-in-law Ron Rosenblum.

A memorial service will be held at Chabad of Doylestown, 300 East Swamp Road, Doylestown, Pennsylvania 18901 at twelve o’clock noon on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Arlene’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
