Gail Shapiro(nee Lipschutz)

June 2, 1943 – April 14, 2025

With sadness, we announce the passing of AnnGail Shapiro, who died peacefully on April 14, 2025, at the age of 81, after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer.

Gail was born on June 2, 1943, in Philadelphia to Bernard and Miriam Lipschutz. Gail was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, and a deeply cherished sister. She is survived by her two sons, Michael(Julie) Gottlieb and Eric(Dale) Shapiro, and her three terrific grandchildren, Melanie, Zachary, and Rebecca. She also had two amazing sisters, Susan Bycer and the late Marcy Schwartz.

Gail attended Girls High School and later graduated from Temple University. She supported herself for many years, while maintaining friendships and close family connections. She acquired advanced certification later in life to become an elementary school teacher. She was an avid Mahjong player and she liked to cook. She set a strong example of strength, independence, and love.

A funeral service will be held at King David Memorial Park on May 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM(3594 Bristol Road Bensalem, Pennsylvania 19020). All who knew and loved Gail are welcome to attend and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please make a donation to either Hadassah(www.hadassah.org) or PJ Library(www.PJLibrary.org).
