Agnes Cotter Jasovsky passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 12, 2025, at Arden Courts Senior Living in Hatboro, PA, at the age of 94.
She was born in Bayonne, NJ, on January 17, 1931, and was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, to whom she was married for 56 years, her devoted “Irish Twin” sister, Kathryn Bicica, and brothers Richard and Danny Cotter.
She is survived by her three children: Joseph Jasovsky (Beth), Kathleen Michalski (PJ), and Beth Ann McMonagle (Pat), as well as seven grandchildren: Rob Cummings (Jhei), Jason Jasovsky (Sam), Meghann Radick (Phil), Veronica McDonough (Kyle), Patrick and Matthew McMonagle, and Joe Michalski. She also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished.
Aggie—“Agony,” as her beloved husband jokingly and affectionately called her—was a dedicated Catholic school teacher and vice principal for 24 years in Bayonne, NJ, serving at both St. Joseph’s and St. Vincent’s Schools. She was honored as the prestigious “Teacher of the Year” by the Archdiocese of Newark in 1997 and chaired many organizations and charitable fundraisers throughout her career. Even after retirement, she continued to devote countless hours and resources to charitable causes and to individuals in need.
Aggie enjoyed bowling and was known for hosting hilariously themed end-of-season parties, which quickly became the most anticipated events in the league.
She loved relaxing on the water in Barnegat Bay aboard “Aggie’s Lounge” and always welcomed friends and family into her Waretown, NJ, home, where she delighted in hosting. Summers were filled with card games and laughter, especially among her close-knit group of friends, the “Great 8.”
Her resilient, joyful spirit, warmth, and deep love for hosting and helping others will live on in all who knew and loved her.
